In 2015 Outdoor Traders Cycling Club became a Go-Ride club and has also been awarded Go-Ride Clubmark status.
Go-Ride is British Cycling’s development programme for young people. The programme provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills.
Another part of the Go-Ride programme is Go-Ride Racing. This is British Cycling’s competition programme that helps young riders make the transition from school or club coaching sessions to inter club and open regional competition. Go-Ride Racing events offer entry level, local competition for young cyclists under the age of 16.
Our Go-Ride sessions are currently held at Dalton Airfield on Saturday mornings at 9.30am for 11-16 year olds. Junior members also represent OTCC in Go-Ride Racing. With additional coaches currently undergoing qualifications, we will be looking to gradually expand our Go-Ride activities.
More information about the full Go-Ride Programme can be found on the British Cycling website: http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/go-ride. For information about OTCC Go Ride, contact Ian Wilson, OTCC Go-Ride Coordinator.
